Gingerbread Cookies


  • 125 gr butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 4 cup of flour
  • 1 pack baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground clove (optional)

Put the butter and sugar in a bowl and mix together. Then add the molasses and egg yolk and mix again. Finally, add the ginger, cinnamon, flour, baking powder and knead until well blended.

After you have the dough, roll it on a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough with the cutter that you want. (It’s better to use shapes like gingerbread man or christmas tree etc. because we are doing christmas cookies!)

Bake cookies in a preheated oven at 175C for 8-10 minutes. (the shorter the time, the softer the cookies.)

After the cookies have cooled, you can decorate them as you want.
